PAYE & RTI guide

How pay calculation, statutory deductions and Real Time Information fit into one disciplined payroll process.

PAYE is the UK system through which employers deduct Income Tax and National Insurance from employee pay and report relevant information to HMRC. Payroll is broader: it includes calculating pay, deductions, payslips, reporting and related records.

In a managed service, we calculate gross-to-net pay from the approved information you provide, apply relevant tax codes and National Insurance, prepare payslips, and submit the relevant RTI information to HMRC in line with the agreed timetable.

You remain legally responsible for meeting your PAYE duties. We administer agreed activities, keep the process visible, and ask for your approval before finalising each pay run.

Before the pay run

Cut-offs, variable pay, starters, leavers and tax-code changes need to land on time so the summary you approve is complete.

Approval

You receive an intelligible payroll summary. You can query items and sign off with confidence before processing.

After the pay run

Payslips, RTI activity and reporting continue against the agreed calendar—without turning HMRC filings into a mystery.
